Agadir Al Massira airport (code AGA) is the third busiest in Morocco: it handled nearly 3.5 million passengers in 2025. It lies about 25 kilometres south-east of the city. Depending on your arrival time, your budget and the size of your family, the best way to reach your accommodation will not be the same.
Flights from France and Belgium
Agadir has direct flights to Paris and Brussels, and to several other French cities depending on the season. New routes open regularly: Transavia has flown from Montpellier since October 2025, and easyJet has announced Bordeaux from late October 2026. Schedules change from one season to the next, so always check flights on the airlines’ websites.
The Aerobus, the cheapest option
The ALSA company runs a shuttle bus, the Aerobus, between the airport and the city centre. It goes through the beach area and ends at the Vallée des Oiseaux transport hub. The journey takes about 50 minutes.
- Price: 50 dirhams one way, 80 dirhams return per person, with tickets sold on board or at the ALSA desk in the airport.
- Weekday timetable: departures every hour from 7 am to 11 pm, then at midnight, 1 am and 5 am. No buses between 1 am and 5 am. At weekends the timetable changes: see the ALSA shuttle page.
The bus suits travellers with light luggage staying near the beach. With children, suitcases and a journey on to Hay Adrar, you will need a second ride.
Grand taxis
Grand taxis wait outside the arrivals hall. No official fares are published online; the press quotes around 200 dirhams to the city centre. Agree on the price before you get in, and be aware that taxis generally have neither a child seat nor a booster seat.
A pre-booked transfer
This is the most restful option when you arrive late and tired, with children. For our guests, we pick you up at the airport: the drive to Hay Adrar takes about 15 minutes, for €20 during the day and €35 at night. Simply give us your flight number when you book. The conditions are set out in our practical information.
Car hire
Several hire companies have a desk in the arrivals area. To be free as soon as you step off the plane, our Dacia Sandero Stepway is handed over at the airport (hand-over free for rentals of 3 weeks or more, or with the Cocon & Liberté package), with no security deposit for short trips during your stay, in Agadir and the surrounding area. Booked with an apartment, it comes under the Cocon & Liberté package: a single point of contact for the accommodation and the car.
Currency, money and phone
- Dirhams: Moroccan currency cannot be bought before you travel. There are bureaux de change and cash machines in the arrivals hall.
- SIM card: prepaid cards are sold at the airport; compare them with the operators’ shops in town.
- Formalities: before you travel, check the entry requirements for Morocco on the “Conseils aux voyageurs” travel advice page from France Diplomatie.
Arriving at night with children
Many flights land late. Between 1 am and 5 am the bus does not run: that leaves a taxi, a pre-booked transfer or the car waiting for you. Remember the child seat and ask for it in advance, whichever option you choose. Keep water, a snack and something warm to wear close at hand: winter nights are cool in Agadir.
