With children, the best outing is often the closest one: no long drive, no tiredness, and you are back in time for a nap or the pool. From our apartments in Hay Adrar, two animal parks and a large indoor play centre are about three minutes away by car.

Crocoparc, crocodiles and an exotic garden

Opened in 2015 in Drarga, on the outskirts of Agadir, Crocoparc is home to more than 300 Nile crocodiles on a 4-hectare estate. Children watch them in complete safety from the walkways, while parents enjoy the botanical gardens, planted with species from all over the world.

The park is also home to giant tortoises, green iguanas, pythons, anacondas and marmosets. A restaurant and places to relax mean you can spend half a day there without rushing.

Lion Park, up close with the big cats

Barely two minutes from Crocoparc, Lion Park covers more than 20 hectares. Lions, including white lions, tigers, cheetahs, leopards, jaguars and black panthers: this is the place for big-cat lovers. Feeding sessions punctuate the day, and play areas await the little ones.

Parkids, the indoor play centre for 0–12 year olds

Also about three minutes away by car, in the Tassila area, Parkids is a large indoor leisure park just for children up to 12: bouncy castles, slides, adventure courses and interactive play areas. Parents settle in while the children burn off their energy.

It is the ideal outing during the hottest hours of summer or on a windy day: everything happens under cover. The park also has food on site, a prayer room and birthday packages.

Our tips for a great day

  • Combine Crocoparc and Lion Park on the same day: they are next door to each other, so you can do one in the morning and the other after lunch. Keep Parkids for a very hot afternoon.
  • Set off early, especially in summer: the animals are more active and the heat gentler in the morning.
  • Bring water, hats and sun cream for the children.
  • Check opening hours and prices before you go, as they can change with the season: on the official websites of Crocoparc and Parkids, and directly with Lion Park.
  • Head back to cool off in one of the residence’s two pools, open from June to September.

Getting there from Hay Adrar

All three parks are a few minutes away by car. If you don’t have a vehicle, our air-conditioned Dacia Sandero Stepway is waiting for you, ideal for a family with a pushchair and bags. Booked with the apartment, it is included in a single price thanks to the accommodation + car package.

To house the whole clan, both Cocons together welcome up to 12 guests across 150 m². And to plan the rest of your trip, read our guide to a family stay in Agadir or go and discover authentic Agadir, its souks and Taroudant.

With teenagers or football fans, an evening at the stadium rounds off these outings nicely: our article See a match at the Stade Adrar tells you how to plan it.
