Families are drawn to Agadir for good reasons: a wide bay opening onto the Atlantic, a mild climate for much of the year and a modern city where you can find everything you need. You still have to choose the right neighbourhood, the right accommodation and the right way to get around. This guide covers the questions our guests ask us before they book.
Seafront or residential neighbourhood?
The seafront is appealing at first sight, but it also brings the crowds, the noise and the prices of the tourist areas. For a family stay, a residential neighbourhood often strikes a better balance: more peace in the evening, more space in the apartment and everyday shops close at hand.
That is the choice we made in Hay Adrar, a residential and practical neighbourhood of Agadir. There is a mosque a few minutes’ walk away; a pharmacy, a BIM supermarket, snack bars and a gym are all close by; the Tikiouine market is about 2 minutes away by car, and Carrefour, Decathlon and Kiabi about 3 minutes. The sea and Agadir Bay are 15 to 20 minutes’ drive away, depending on traffic.

Which accommodation for the size of your family?
The real question is not the number of beds, but how you will live together for one or two weeks. Separate bedrooms, enough bathrooms and an equipped kitchen make all the difference.
- Up to 6 guests. A 75 m² apartment is enough: Cocon 1 and Cocon 2 each have two double bedrooms, one of them a master bedroom with its own bathroom and toilet, a second bathroom, a large living room and a fully equipped kitchen.
- From 7 to 12 guests. Two neighbouring apartments are better than one overcrowded one. Both Cocons together on the same landing make up 150 m², with four bedrooms, four bathrooms and two kitchens: each household keeps its own space, and everyone comes together for meals.
In the residence, the private underground parking, the caretaker on site, the lift up to the 2nd floor and the two pools, open from June to September, make life easier for parents.
For days out, two animal parks and an indoor play centre are about three minutes away by car: discover Crocoparc, Lion Park and Parkids, our favourite family outings.
Do you need a car in Agadir?
For a family, yes, in most cases. The beaches, the outings and the big supermarkets are much easier to reach by car, especially with children and beach bags. Al Massira airport is about 15 minutes from Hay Adrar.
We offer an air-conditioned Dacia Sandero Stepway 2026, with no security deposit, which can be waiting for you at the airport. Booked with an apartment, it is included in a single price: that is the whole point of the accommodation + car package, with a single point of contact for your whole stay.
To get off the beaten track, also discover authentic Agadir, with its souks and working-class neighbourhoods, all the way to Taroudant.
When should you come to Agadir with the family?
- Summer is the season for big family get-togethers; the residence’s two pools are open from June to September; for the climate in each season, read our guide Agadir with the family, all year round.
- The school holidays at All Saints’, Christmas, in winter and in spring let you enjoy a quieter city and a mildness that is welcome when Europe is cold.
- Ramadan and Eid are happily spent as a family, with a mosque a few minutes’ walk away and an equipped kitchen to prepare the fast-breaking meal at home.
Whatever the time of year, book early for the holiday weeks: family accommodation is the first to go.
What budget should you plan for?
Our prices are public and fit into a single table. In the standard period, one Cocon starts at €39 a night, both Cocons together at €95 a night, and the car only at €35 a day. The longer you stay, the less you pay: the price drops from 7 nights. During the holidays (French school holidays and Eid) and in July–August, the price depends on your dates. Minimum stay with an apartment: 2 nights in the standard period, 3 nights during the holidays, 5 nights in July–August.
For example, a week in November in one Cocon with the Sandero comes to €400.05 in total, apartment and car included, excluding cleaning (€20).
